All You Need To Know About Paintball Production.

1. Big Paintball Machine for 0.68'' and 0.5 Calbier Paintballs

You can see two color-white and blue paintball production process below: and all paintballs fell off from the middle and no balls stick to the die roller cavities. This means the roundness of the paintball is perfect.

This JL-250II Paintball making machine can be used not only for standard 0.68 inch caliber paintball production, but also for production of  0.5 caliber mini paintball in large quantity. 2. Some Modifications of JL-250II Paintball Making Machine

  1. We changed the hopper on this paintball machine from square to round shape. There are basically no sanitary dead corners for round hopper it is easy to clean, and it does not retain too much fillings inside, saving raw materials. The round hopper also has a more beautiful appearance.

2. We modified the die roller cavity design for this paintball machine. Due to the limitation of gelatin spreader box and die roller length, standard 10” paintball die roller arrangement is 13×23=286, which means there are 286 cavities on the die roller and 286 paintballs can be produced when the paintball machine rotate 1 lap. But we modified the gelatin spreader boxes a little bit to make the gelatin outlet wider, and then we modified the die roller arrangement to make it 14×23=322, which means there are 322 cavities on the die rollers and the output per hour can be increased by 10,000 balls

3. We adopted 2 sets of water cooling unit for this paintball making machine, one for casting drum cooling and one for die roller area cooling, which guarantee good cooling effect for paintball gelatin ribbon and paintballs when just come off from the paintball machine.

3. What Is Paintball?

Paintball is also called short for “paint”, the size is 0.68 inches as the international standard caliber. The inside is edible oil and pigment, and the outside is edible, water-soluble, and similar to a medical softgel capsule. It is non-lethal and can be used as a bullet by players in paintball sports.

4. The Composition Of Paintball

The structure, production process and principle of paintballs are the same as those of softgel capsules. They are all gelatin shells wrapped with oily contents. The filling of soft capsules is food or health products or medicines, while the main component of paintball fillings is a mixed liquid of polyethylene glycol (PEG) and paraffin oil, and the main component of the shell is gelatin.

5. The Grades Of Paintball

6.What(Equipment) Is Needed For Paintball Production?

1)Paintball Formula

If you want to build a factory and manufacture paintball balls by your own, the first and most important thing is to have your paintball formula, including filling formula and shell formula. A good and complete paintball formula determines the roundness and brittlness and quality of the paintball. Since paintball formula is critical and precious, all manufacturers are take it as secret, as far as we know, there are glycerin, PEG, Titanium Oxide and dye in the paintball fillings, and there are water, glycerin, gelatin and dye in the paintball shell. 2)Paintball Filling Preparation Equipment

Filling material mixing tank&homogenizer

  • As we all know, in paintball sports, shooters have high requirements for shooting accuracy. In this case, the roundness of the paintballs must be good, and the fillings of the paintballs must be uniform and not layered. However, the contents of the paintballs themselves are a mixture of various materials, which requires heating and mixing the contents before encapsulating to fully mix them and maintain good fluidity, which requires the use of a filling material mixing tank. 
  • In addition, there are powdered materials in the paintball fillings. If the powdered materials themselves are large in particles or not mixed evenly, they will clog the segment(wedge) of the paintball machine die roller set, causing production problems. At this time, we need an emulsification(homogenizer) equipment to emulsify and grind the fillings.
  • For big paintball making machine and production line, we need a big filling material mixing tankwith homogenizer head installed on bottom of the tank.

This mixing tank is 3-layer structure-inner layer, heating layer and insulation layer. There is water filled inside the heating layer, heat the water up to heat the filling material inside tank. And the inner tank can bear some negative pressure, so it can suck in the material from the feeding port. So the operator just need to prepare all filling material according to the formula and vacuum the tank and all material can be sucked in automatically. And after all material are mixed well, the homogenizer will start to work and keep homogenizing the filling until they are smooth and even.

  • For smaller paintball making machine, a portable filling material mixing tankwith a portable removable homogenizer unit is enough. Connect the small homogenizer unit to the mixing tank before working and disassemble it after mixing and move the mixing tank to paintball making machine for next step paintball production.

Filling Material Service Tank

This paintball fill tank is mainly used to transfer the fillings from filling material preparation tank to paint ball making machine. It is three layer structure and it can be heated when necessary and the inner layer can bear some positive pressure and fillings can be transported to the pintball machine for paintball encapsulation by compressed air.

And of course, if your filling preparation room is upstairs and on top of the paintball making machine room, the filling material service tank is not necessary, because fillings can be transported to the paint ball machine directly from the fill preparation tank on the second floor to the paintball making machine on the first floor.
